Matt is a skilled gaffer and spark with over five years of experience on high-profile productions, including Passenger (ITVx), Bodies (Netflix), A Gentleman in Moscow (Paramount+), and Gangs of London (Sky). He’s passionate about creating lighting that elevates storytelling, working on everything from commercials for McDonald’s, Jaguar, and Royal Mail, to features, shorts, and music videos. Co-founder of Pole Lighting, Matt helped build the Sheffield-based rental house from the ground up, driven by a shared vision of empowering filmmakers with top-tier lighting solutions. He also shares his expertise as a guest lecturer at Met Film School and a tutor on the Screen Yorkshire Skill Craft Program, combining his love for teaching with a commitment to growing the industry.

Michael Suszczenia

Having already began his first production company at 18 years old, Michael then graduated with a 1st in Film and Television Production from the University of Bristol, along with honours for technical achievement in the arts. Specialising in cinematography, Michael has DoP’ed multiple award winning short films, and many music videos, but his passion was always lighting. Gaffing high end productions, from commercial to fiction, and sparking HETV. Founding Pole Lighting has allowed a new sense of career freedom, supplying all manner of productions with every type of equipment and crew necessary, as well as expanding his skillset to the other side of education and academia, lecturing for institutions and charities such as MET Film School and Lets Make Films, respectively.
